PRAYER WALK MINISTRY: On the first and third Sundays of each month our mobile prayer units set out to walk around one of the city blocks in our community. During the walk, the group stops periodically (at least at the four corners) to pray for that city block and its residents.

Through Glenwood’s DOOR STEP ministry, members travel to the homes of first-time visitors, welcome them to our church with a loaf of homemade bread, and share information about the various ministries and opportunities at our church, in order to make a connection, and help them find a place to belong.

Our CAMPING ministry encourages all children to go to one of the three Methodist summer camps in our conference. These camps are based on a wide variety of themes, from the more general “Adventure” camps, to horseback riding camps. There are also three-day “mini-camps” for younger children. Many youth come to know Jesus in a very special way during the camping experience. Glenwood offers scholarships for families who need financial aid.

Needs-Oriented Evangelism

How can the Glenwood congregation feel more comfortable when sharing our faith? How can we be a more inviting congregation? How can we ask Jesus Christ into our midst? The Glenwood congregation always seeks to be about the joy of sharing our faith with one another and with others through the simple practices of needs-oriented evangelism.
