prayer

“Prayer is where the action is.” John Wesley

A vital but often unseen part of the Christian life is prayer.  In prayer, we take the time to talk with God and also to listen to Him speak to us.  But while Christians know that they should pray, many experience great challenges when they try to pray, including questions like “Is God really listening?”, “If God knows everything, why should I bother?”, and “What does it mean when I don’t get the answer I want to my prayer?”

Our prayer ministry is not just about praying for specific needs but also teaching others how to communicate with God through prayer by both talking and listening.

To request prayer:

  • Contact the church office – 814-456-6268 or office@glenwoodumc.org .  Praises and concerns are distributed via both email and phone chains.

Prayer opportunities:

  • Use the church sanctuary during normal church office hours
  • Our prayer team meets Wednesdays from 11:30am-12:00 Noon to pray for all the concerns raised up during worship and gathered from the community

Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
